Pink Macaron Earrings

I've been busy trying to complete the large custom order of pink macaron earrings here. Feeling really happy that they will soon to be completed.

Now that the large order is going to be completed soon, I can start working on other things.

Looking forward.

The other day, I received a negative feedback about a doily mold that I was selling in my shop. The customer wasn't happy with the depth of the center of the mold, which according to her, was deeper than the edges. It wasn't as flat as the edges. I took the same mold that was sent to her, and made another doily so I could scrutinize it.

I tried understanding what she was talking about. Unless my eyes are playing me, the depth difference we're talking here is really minuscule. But I accept her opinion. I've retook photographs, so that there isn't any mis-interpretation moving forward. We live and learn :)

Dollhouse Miniature Cake Pastry Cupcake Toppings Decoration

I found these intricate findings recently and when I saw them, I knew their size is just perfect to be used as dollhouse miniature cake pastry, or cupcake toppings decoration!

Immediately, I had an idea to do a spring theme ispahan macaron!

The butterfly finding fitted this dollhouse miniature ispahan macaron perfectly. :) I will have to find some time after my custom order to make some other pastries using other patterns.

I have listed these intricate findings in my etsy shop here.

There are several designs. All of them are definitely suitable for 1/12 or 1/24 scale miniatures.

Dollhouse Miniature Ruffle Lace Mixing Bowl

Hi everyone! A brand new week starts again. I'm foreseeing this will be a busy week. I have a class to teach this coming Saturday. Always a joy to spend an afternoon with a student.
I'm still working on the macarons, and have finished the chocolate ones. In fact, I even finished the whole tube of chocolate oil paint completing 26 macarons!! So I went to order another 2 giant tubes of chocolate oil paints. :D

Right now, I'm working on the pink macarons. They are taking a little longer but I'll get there.

Lately, I haven't been working on flowers, and maybe that's why I seeing alot of it in my head.

Take this dollhouse miniature ruffle lace mixing bowl for example. I believe everyone would see it in a dollhouse kitchen setting. But the first time I set eyes on this, I knew it was going to be a very versatile piece.
The pretty pale pink color is hard to resist...

I can see flowers in this....

And I can see this being used as a vase in a dollhouse garden, yard setting. Yes.

Crazy? I just have to spend some time to get the flower arrangement up!

Starting off the new year

How did everyone spent their new year? I spent mine at home, relaxing. :) I rested mostly and spent time with family. Was going to do a 2016 recap post, but realized it was taking too long...so I wonder if I would ever finish it! And then, I got a custom order early on new years, and have been working on that since, so the post just got delayed even further.

But I'm just happy and excited to be working on an order for a shop in Florida. A real macaron shop. I need to get the details up on the retail shops page soon too. I am making a lot of magnets and earrings for them!
And I decided to start off with working on the most tedious ones first!

Chocolate macarons are more tedious to make as they require more time to mix in the colors.

I also need to get them glossed after they are dried. I have been slowly glossing them while working on the next color. This order is going to take a while, but I'm enjoying every moment!

I am hoping everyone is off to a great start in 2017! :)
