This is one of the projects my dear friend Ling sze has given me the opportunity to make it for her. I feel very honored and privileged really. The theme was leaning towards art/craft. Although this is not the first time I built this, I want it to be a little different than the previous. This time, I have lined the cabinet doors with some some pretty paper. It reminds me of some old shabby chic furnitures, which are lined with pretty paper. Next, my idea was to pick the colour choice (I chose earthy beige and greens which fitted the vintage theme). From the fabrics, to the photo, everything is selected very carefully.
Sometimes I think about what kind of visual effects I want to give the recipient when they see this piece. I wanted something very soothing and pleasant to the eye, something they will be very happy to hold in their hands and have so much to see and smile at.
Often when I complete a piece, my family members will critique my work. I actually value their opinions because they are most critical of my work. If something doesn't look real or good enough, they will not mince their words. ;P
I am very happy with this piece, and especially when the lights are turned on.
