Dollhouse Miniature Cake - Pink Rainbow Cake

Last week, I was looking around for a new cake inspiration for dollhouse miniatures. I might have been looking at pink cakes when I found the most amazing pink rainbow cake in shades of pink tones. Not just any pink tones, but the most lovely shades of blushing pink. I went kind of crazy and spent some time studying the layers in detail. Did she use food colourings, did she use fruit puree, how did she get those lovely muted pink? Those were the kind of things I was thinking about even though I don't bake.

And of course, I had to come up with a dollhouse miniature version of the pink rainbow cake. Here's mine.

Measuring 2.6cm tall by 2.6cm wide

I use pink cream in between the cake layers.

  1. It's so fun to look at your creations. I never played polly pocket when I was little but definitely like to play around with tiny cakes now.

  2. Hi PFx,

Thanks for dropping by! Polly pocket? That must be a new toy. During my "era" there was no polly pocket. Haha. In my days, we had Strawberry shortcake and Barbie Dolls.

Are you belong to the Ninja Turtles "era"? Hehe.

  6. It looks gorgeous, Pei Li! It might sound weird, but I especially love the way you did the icing on the sides. It looks great!
Ps. As for the 'real' cake, I remember my mother used to mix 'Alchermes' (italian liqueur) to the dough to make pink cakes. It tastes good and it's not as unhealty as food coloring! :D
