Show and Tell Monday ~ Miniature Soaps in 1:12 scale

Sorry for the lack of updates for a week! Due to the Lunar New Year holidays last week, I was too busy.

I completed an order for one customer a while ago, who wanted some miniature soaps. I made a bunch of different ones for her, and had some other left over materials to make some more to list in my own shop.


Here are the ones that are currently on sale. All the soaps are individually handwrapped by me, and I made logos for them too!

Show and Tell Monday ~ Dollhouse Miniature Harberdashery Cabinet in 1:12 Scale

I made this for Jen as a thank you gift for featuring me in the blog interview. Luckily, I remembered to take a few quick snapshots of this before I sent it out in the mail.

I love the colours and the soft romantic feel it brings. I especially love a few things, the strawberry plate which I made myself, the soaps (of course!), the photo frame of a victorian lady and fabric stash...

The drawers can be opened and closed. .

In one of the drawers, I made more soaps. I love how the green turns out in this soap. Sage green, I think. Clean, fresh & soft.

In the other side of the drawer, I made fabric stash. You gotta love all the pinks!

Show and Tell Monday ~ Busy busy

I have been really busy since last week. The truth was, we started our house renovations since late last year and we have still been continuing it in phases. Ever since we came back from holidays, we continued with the renovations. I have my room re-painted in a light powder pink colour. And I'm just waiting for my wallpaper to be in. I initially chose a lacey pink wallpaper, but that one was way out of my budget, so I settled for a simple pink stripes from PiP Studio. She has awesome wallpaper designs. Feminine, a little quirky and whimsical. http://www.pipstudio.com/

Well I hope I will be able to take some photos once all the renovations will be done in a month's time (probably). I will have new cabinets, study/work table. I'm excited to have new work space/bench for my miniatures.

Meanwhile, my miniature making will probably be affected as I have to clean up a lot after each part of the renovation. ;) Currently still working on a miniature soap order :)

During the holiday break. I had a lot of personal time, and I discovered new places/hunts, treasures, met new friends, and coincidentally met people I first met in Sep 08. All in all, it was great. I especially enjoyed the banter and conversations I had with several people. I am grateful for having that opportunity to learn and share that wonderful environment with like-minded people. It gave me a lot of ideas and lead me back to the starting point of why are we all doing miniatures. Everyone has a different life and story, but it’s wonderful how everyone is binded by their common love and interest.

On New Year’s Day, I visited Antique Patisserie. The shop is like heaven. Everything is so beautiful in there. I was taking in as much as I can. I treated myself to a Mille Feuille which actually is a vanilla mousse with whole strawberries sandwiched between 2 sponge cake and puff pastries. It is indeed very light!

I listed 2 new items this year. Started the new year with something light. Flowers and plants.
One is a cream pitcher with pastel roses, the other is a strawberry plant in a rusty vintage tin…both with very different feel, but still capturing the realism as much as I can.
