Pink Clay Rose Ring

From time to time, I get requests to customize a color of something I offer in my shop. And earlier, I got a request from my customer to make a pink clay rose ring based on what she saw in my shop. I made a white clay rose ring earlier, and it sparked an idea for her and so she wanted a 2 tone pink clay rose ring. I couldn't pass up the chance to create the 2 tone pink clay rose ring! Just love the colors!

Creating bigger roses seem to be an interesting challenge for me as I've been so used to creating smaller ones. I'm glad it gave me a chance to practice making bigger clay roses. :)

I made the 2 tones very subtle, just like what was shown in the photo. It doesn't show up very clearly here, but it is actually 2 tones.

Food Jewelry Workshop Singapore - Christmas Cake Tower Necklace

I'm pleased to share that I'm adding a new workshop offering in my suite of craft classes available!

Last week, I turned the christmas cake tower into a wearable food jewelry piece! I was happy with the results and I had the idea to turn this into a workshop offering as well. So here it is!!

Over the years, I have received numerous requests about the possibility of teaching some food jewelry classes. However, I had difficulty with that as I use air dry clay for all my craft classes, and it takes time for the clay to dry. For a larger dollhouse miniature piece, I could always plan something for the student to work on while waiting for the air dry clay to dry naturally. But for a single food jewelry piece, you can't proceed if the item isn't dried. Believe it or not, I'm mindful about maximizing my student's traveling time and ensuring that there is enough content to teach in a session. So, that has really been my biggest hurdle and I wanted to wait till I have a project that would take a couple of hours at least to complete before rolling out a craft workshop! Here I am, finally! :)

This Nov/Dec period is perfect for this particular food jewelry piece, so come join me to create your own masterpiece.

Sweets Deco Sauce - Chocolate and Strawberry

Recently, I experimented with this new sweets deco sauce that I found, and I'm pleased to show you the actual colors and texture of it.

This kit comes in 2 colors - chocolate and strawberry.

Sometimes you don't really know how the color would show up in real life, hence I like to test drive them to see if they are realistic enough.

I'm really pleased with the results. The colors were truly realistic and even the texture was glossy after drying!

Do note that you need to allow it to dry overnight. It doesn't dry upon minutes of applying.

I love both colors - In fact I think the strawberry sauce looks quite "appetizing" with its slightly translucent result. Drench it over your colored strawberries and you get a really tasty looking fake dessert going!

You can hop over to my dollhouse miniature supplies page here to get one now!

Miniature Orange Slice Mold

I'm excited to show you a new experimentation I completed just yesterday. With the new miniature orange slice mold available here, I made this miniature orange slice. As always, there were a few failed attempts initially. But every failed attempt is a learning opportunity, so I'm constantly reminding myself that!

You know, I think I'm going to try another way to make this, and maybe who knows, I might publish a PDF tutorial to show you how to make these. Note: I still have another tutorial which I have yet to complete writing, I know!

Miniature making teaches me a thing or two, that can be applied in real life. There is more than 1 way to do things, and this is indeed true as well for making the miniature orange slice. So if I were to write the PDF tutorial, I would like to show the 2 ways I experimented.

I will add that onto my list to do!

I really love this one as it is so sweet and adorable. I definitely love the colours.

Tall Sandwich Necklace

I've been really busy the past month up till now, rushing out Christmas orders and re-stocking my shop - which is why I've really haven't had time to blog or even create new items.

Yesterday, I finally had some time to play with new ideas! I've always been wanting to try my hand making a sandwich necklace, and I had fun "stacking" things up! :)

The tall sandwich jewelry has many layers of lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and ham!

This would be great for everyday wear. Because I had so much time creating this, I'm going to make a couple more.

Available at my Etsy shop here now!

Breakfast Earrings now available!

Finally! I had some time to explore making these breakfast earrings.

I love eating toast and it was just a matter of time I make some. I can eat them almost everyday. Breakfast or dinner.

I like mine with butter on the top, especially when it's just out from the toaster, as you can see the butter melting slowly.

I made a pair of these toast earrings featuring a melted butter toast, and a chocolate spread toast!

Perfect for the breakfast lover :)

Available in my shop under Food Jewelry.

French Macaron Necklace

I completed this cute french macaron necklace this week!

I actually love this colour combination - the french macaron is a baby blue vanilla bean flavour concept :)
and I added a white chocolate bar onto this necklace piece as well.

This colour combination makes me smile!

Strangely enough, the colour idea for my macaron alone came from the Korean "Hanbok" (traditional dress). While watching a period drama recently, I realized their hanbok was a great colour palette to study from as the top colour is different from the skirt. Even though the colours are usually very striking, they compliment each other.

After making that shade of blue, I decided to use it for this necklace idea.

I think I shall make another complete striking colour combination set!

French macaron necklace is now available in my shop under Food Jewelry!

Food Jewelry - Wear a Present Ring

I made this food jewelry, named Wear a Present Ring a little while ago...

I got the inspiration when I saw a real version of it being made into wedding cookies, and I thought why not adapting it into a ring?

I made the cookie base, and had fun using air dry clay to replicate gum paste. To top it off, I added a pearl onto it :)

The colour is truly my favourite, it makes me smile and I hope you will too!

Food Jewelry - Candy Drop Series Macaron Rings

This year's spring season seems to have a heavy emphasis on pastel tones, which is my inspiration to create a new line for my food jewelry macaron rings.

Called the Candy Drop Series, these french macaron rings would be a perfect hit for those of you who likes sweet pastel tones.

Match it with your nail polish colour and show it to your friends. :)

Well, even if you are not into food jewelry, perhaps just looking at these sweet colours would bring a smile to your face?

Have a fabulous week everyone!

Food Jewelry - French Bread in Basket Pendant

Couple of weeks ago, I hosted a Free Giveaway - it has since ended and we have a lucky winner! The winner is Georgia M! Thank you so much to all of you who have participated in it! I hope you guys had fun :)

Meanwhile, I should be cleaning and packing, but I am still sitting here. I had a nice and quiet chinese new year eating lots of home made food. I have been busy with this and that...there are still work lying around. But I managed to finish up a few things that I've always wanted to do.

I had these resin bread baskets lying around for a while and had always wanted to make a french bread in basket pendant. I finally had the time to finish it! I even had my aunt to make them into necklaces.

Mauve

Mauve...There are just so many shades and tones of it. Sometimes it can be greyish, sometimes it's purplish.

It seems Mauve is the "in" colour for this Autumn season.

Mauve reminds me of...

Then a few days ago, a sweet customer approached me to commission some food jewelry - mauve macaron ring. She showed me a photo with the most breath-taking mauve colour I've ever seen, and I jumped right into it, making her a mauve macaron ring! Because I'm so inspired, I will make the whole range of macaron rings from that photo.

Can't wait to dive right into it, but first I have to finish some pending work...

Clay Jewelry - French Chic Gerbera Daisy Necklace

Ever heard of the "wear a plant" necklace concept? I saw this a few weeks ago. It's actually a planter necklace concept, and you can plant your desired herb or plant in the acrylic planter and wear it on your neck. I was fascinated with the concept which prompted me with this original idea. Last week, I finished making the cupcake planter dollhouse miniatures. An idea came to my mind and I wondered what if I made it into a clay jewelry necklace?

I started to do some research and after finding a few simple elements, I made my first wear a french chic gerbera daisy necklace.

Hope you like it!

Food Jewelry - New Macaron Earrings

Last week, I decided to make some more food jewelry using macarons with the shades of dusty pink I've earlier discovered while making the miniature pink rainbow cake.

Here are my dusty pink series of macaron earrings. I'm quite sure at some point later, I'll be adding new shades of pink once I discover them. One can't have too many shades of pink.

The 2 lightest shades has specks of pink and purple in it. Like some real macarons do!

Working on a new plant right now...I'm quite excited and hope to show you photos real soon!
