Some updates and WIN a FREE bread mold !

Hey everyone! My end May was pretty productive. I was trying to tie up couple of projects with different people, and I'm glad there is progress. I was also working on an custom order. :)

If you LOVE to see short video clips of my miniatures, then you should definitely follow my instagram account here. I've just recently started to make short video clips of work in progress, or completed works using my iphone. Pretty fun for me. :)

Working on this three tier vanilla wedding cake for a special customer. The leaves were not completed yet when I took a picture. I finished with the leaves, but today's weather is really too cloudy, so I can't take a nice picture. I'll try tomorrow. I've one more item to go before I complete this order.

My first Instagram Giveaway!

I must be one of the slowest person to join in Instagram. But honestly, I seldom use my mobile phone unless I don't have access to my computer.

Free Giveaway Contest Results

Good day everyone!

If you have been following my Facebook Fan Page, you would know that I was running a free giveaway contest over the last week.

Just a little while ago, I announced the result of the winner as well as the answer to what I was making with the miniature cups!

In fact when I ran the contest last week, I was a little worried that there won't be a winner because almost all the answers were related to food, desserts or beverages. I was thinking of giving a hint if there were no answers by the next day...and then later in the day, we got the correct answer! :)

Free Giveaway - Art Prints by Maximonstertje

I've yet to travel to such a beautiful chateau or place where there are so many red flowers all around. I know that looking at it would bring me a sense of calm and happiness.

Dollhouse Miniatures - Pink Rose Cupcakes and Unique Giveaway!

While happily making a bunch of flowers, some end up looking like roses and some were more like carnations. I picked the ones which looked like roses and made them into dollhouse miniatures pink rose cupcakes.

I especially love how delicate and thin the flowers look, just like the real thing.

This experiment on dollhouse miniature roses and carnations has been extremely fruitful and in a way, deepened my knowledge on air dry clay.

In fact, I was chatting with my friend today about how I would REALLY love to try my hands on making edible roses decoration for real cakes, maybe using gum paste. Now, what prompted me to want to try it out is because I wanted to see if my own unconventional way of working on roses and carnations could be adapted to the real edible thing. I've not tried handling gum paste, and don't know how the texture is like, but I think I would really like to experiment my rose/carnation making techniques with the real thing someday. Can any real bakers in Singapore who is reading this, and who's interested to get together to play with gum paste leave me a message? All the ones I know who bakes live overseas. This will be on my wish list.

But there is this one - a style that I like very much. Simple and chic. Plus it is in a colour that I absolutely love. Mustard Yellow. A few years ago, I discovered mustard yellow and I fell in love with it.

Remember the 1:12 scale miniature canister labels I was making a while ago? I am giving away these labels to 2 lucky winners. So I will be picking 2 names. Each person will get 1 set of canister labels. These are really easy to use, just cut out the label which you want to use and apply some water on them, slide them between your fingers so the decal will be removed from the paper, and you can attach the decal onto the surface. No glue needed. When dried, it will be fixed in position and if you like, you can apply another coat of varnish.

Ok just remember these are 1:12 scale miniature canister labels, not the real sized ones! Your dollhouse kitchen does deserve this luxury! Hahaha.
