I recently participated with the ladies at MakeMinePink for a Vision Project named "Enchanted Makeovers". This is a project that will change the lives of 20 young women ages 11-17.
Enchanted Makeovers is a non-profit organization that transforms shelters for women and children into places of peace and possibilities. (Not just where basic needs are met, but spiritual needs for hope and beauty also).
There are so many ways you can help to transform the lives of these young girls. We can make a difference!
For a start, we are getting someone who will help us to make 20 Hope Chests for the girls. These Hope Chests will stay at the shelter, but each girl will have a chest that is filled with things that they will need when they move on from the shelter. We all had or knew someone that had a hope chest and understand the significance of giving these girls something to look forward to..dream about.. hope for.
Please head over to http://www.enchantedmakeovers.org/ to find out more!

Show and Tell Monday ~ 1:12 Dollhouse Sewing Theme Cabinet
This is one of the projects my dear friend Ling sze has given me the opportunity to make it for her. I feel very honored and privileged really. The theme was leaning towards art/craft. Although this is not the first time I built this, I want it to be a little different than the previous. This time, I have lined the cabinet doors with some some pretty paper. It reminds me of some old shabby chic furnitures, which are lined with pretty paper. Next, my idea was to pick the colour choice (I chose earthy beige and greens which fitted the vintage theme). From the fabrics, to the photo, everything is selected very carefully.
Sometimes I think about what kind of visual effects I want to give the recipient when they see this piece. I wanted something very soothing and pleasant to the eye, something they will be very happy to hold in their hands and have so much to see and smile at.
Often when I complete a piece, my family members will critique my work. I actually value their opinions because they are most critical of my work. If something doesn't look real or good enough, they will not mince their words. ;P
I am very happy with this piece, and especially when the lights are turned on.

Calling 1/6th Scale Blythe Doll owners!
Calling all 1/6th scale Blythe doll owners! This might be a project you are interested in.
I am experimenting making stuff for Blythe doll, but I don’t own a doll, and I don’t foresee myself getting one anytime soon. So, this is where you can help me while joining in the fun.
What I need from you, is to email me when you received my samples, as which size would fit your 1/6th scale Blythe doll best! I will be labeling the sample sizes, so it will be easy to let me know.
Basically I will be making samples of a few stuff in various sizes, and I need your input as to which size is best appropriate.
I am used to one inch scale, so I can see something and know immediately if that will be an appropriate fit for one inch scale, but the same cannot be said for the 1/6th scale Blythe dolls. And I don’t really believe in manually using measurements as my guide. Everything is about balance. It must look good enough for your dolls, and the scale must be right. So that’s where you can help me.
The best thing is, you get to keep the samples upon receiving them!
If this is something that you are interested in helping me, please drop me a comment and leave me your email address, where I can contact you to get your postal address, blog address (if you have) etc.
Please know that this won’t be immediate, as I am working on a few commissions but I want to get this going and getting a few folks on this project list will be a good start, and as and when I am taking breaks from the other projects, this is something I will work on.
I will be picking a few folks :)
p/s: I have been told that my one inch scale pastries fit the Petit Blythe doll (11.2cm), so what I am looking to make is for the 28cm Blythe doll (1/6th scale)

Show and Tell Monday ~ 1:12 Dollhouse Strawberry Plant in Shabby Chic Basket
I have this brown basket sitting in my stash for a while, and I've been thinking about what I should do with it for a while. I didn't like the colour, and so I painted it and gave it a distressed look. Then this is what I eventually made it into.
The shabby chic basket strawberry plant is now available at my etsy shop! www.miniaturepatisserie.etsy.com

I was in another Treasury!!
I found myself in another lovely Treasury called Afternoon Tea the other day. How apt!! Everything is in beautiful golden hues. ;) I applaud the curator for having such a good eye for colour and coordination!

Show and Tell Monday ~ 1:12 Scale Cake Display Shelf
Besides making 1:12 food miniatures, I am really fond of building shelfs, cabinets, cake display case. It gives me much excitement and anticipation when I am starting from scratch, cutting up pieces of wood, gluing them, deciding what colour to go on them, etc.
As you can imagine, I am most honored when I was approached by a very sweet person to build her a custom cake display case. It is such a priviledge. She has requested for white, and "distressed" looking cake display case. After I completed it, I wanted to give it some extra touch, so that she is the only person to have this piece. Hence I added some elegant gold frills to the front, and I also made a antique poster which goes in very nicely for this piece. I hope she likes it :)
Side view: Gave it a slightly more worn out look.
