Pink Miniature Vespa

Hello everyone! This week, I finished a large project. It was a dream of mine to do a miniature vespa makeover for a long time and boy am I glad I fulfilled this dream. It has been truly fun! I say that because I love hand painting a lot! This piece has a lot of hand painting to do and I had the chance to try out new stuff in the process, which makes it truly enjoyable.

I don't think any of you would be surprised by my choice of colour here - pink! What can I say? It's just my colour to try out for this first makeover.

I love the glossy look. Almost like brand new.

Although my miniature vespa isn't a 1:12 scale, it didn't stop me from giving this a makeover. Truth of the matter is, there are some 1:12 scale miniature scooters out there, but there are almost none that are of a old looking model. Almost all of them were too modern looking and didn't fit into my vision. Think Roman Holiday. So I gave up and looked at other scales.

The flowers presented here were made a little while ago, and back then I had no room to fit them into any piece - they were looking for a suitable home. It has finally found its home!

My mom saw this and she loves it too. I wonder if it was the colour that she fell in love with, or was it the overall cuteness of this miniature piece.

I imagine a flower shop owner going around delivering flowers to customers on this miniature bike. That was my vision when I made this.

Also I had to do a little scale comparison when I put this next to another 1:12 scale miniature pot of flowers I finished earlier. It is not too bad. Some of the 1:12 scale miniatures would fit and compliment well with this piece.

I also had to scale down my crate just a little, so that it doesn't look way too big on the bike.

I cannot stop looking at this pink scooter.

I think what this has done is opened up another new hobby of some sort for me. Does hand painting models count?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Some new toys to experiment!

So, over the past week, I finished another miniature impromptu project which is a present for a friend. As much as I wanted to share lots of photo of this piece right now, I have to wait till my friend receives it. I don't want to ruin this surprise for her!! But of course, for those of you who have been following my facebook fan page here, you would have seen a sneak peak photo of it :)

I'll post more photos of that piece once I have it delivered to my friend.

The impromptu project lead me to discover new things in the miniature world, and I'm excited to experiment more new stuff for my other pieces!

And oh, I bought some more new paints.

You know how much I just love colours....I can' wait to try them out!

Food Earrings Bulk Order Completion

This week, I finished a bulk order of food earrings! I'm so thrilled they are completed, and early next week, they will be shipped to Houston! I hope they will be well received!
I love packaging things, and while packing this order, I came up with an idea of turning these cards into earring cards.

On another happy news, I finished up a gift for my friend! It was my first time using new painting techniques for that, and I'm happy with my experiment. I can't wait to see my friend and gift her with it.

This week is a holiday weekend here (Good Friday), and yesterday I had a class with my student. We were working on English Tea Time. My student does not have much time to set aside for hobbies, but she found it  therapeutic making this, and I am really happy to see her enjoying it.

Happy weekend everyone!

Color charting my new colors!

My new colors arrived earlier this week, and I happily started color charting them on my design book. The reason why I did this was because it was so hard to tell how the colors truly look like just by looking at its container. So I decided to make my own color chart so this will help me a lot when I make decisions on what colors to use.

This week, I am also kept busy with an wholesale jewelry order, which I am excited and happy about! I hope to finish them all by sometime next week. I'm also going to have a lineup of classes starting this weekend till end of April. Sometimes I get class requests to be done on public holidays. If I don't have anything scheduled and planned, I can accept it. On Good Friday, I'll be having one!

I also have my new miniature toy here, which I just got it from the postman! I'm looking forward to giving it a new coat of paint!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Dollhouse Miniature High Tea Tray

I'm pleased to show you my latest work which is a dollhouse miniature high tea tray filled with various assorted pastries and desserts. Besides working on a big project, I've been working on flowers for several weeks now. While waiting for my new colors to arrive, I decided to swap projects around for a bit. This 3-tier high tea stand is something I've been looking to work on as I have it in my collection for some time now.

There are 15 desserts and pastries presented on this tray altogether. I'm not going to name all of them here, so I'll just let you enjoy the photos.

A special mention goes to the glass cup dessert I've placed on the bottom tier. It's a chocolate mousse, lined with a tad of matcha cream and raspberry sauce. Beside it on the back is a scone!

More delicate cakes and tarts on the 2nd tier as well.

I decided not to glue these desserts on the tray as I think it would give more flexibility to the collector who wants to arrange the desserts around :)

Now available in my shop under the Dollhouse Miniature Food section here.
