It's been a while since I made dollhouse miniature cakes. This time round, I'm happy to experiment and make a purple ombre flower cake! It's been on my list to make it and am finally glad it's now been done.
It's funny how I feel differently about decorating cakes after making bouquets for a while. It is a very different work process. It's not because cake layers are involved here, but I feel much more restricted in terms of design wise. You only have the diameter of the cake size to play with design.
Also, I realized that I can possibly come up with 2 different designs when I started decorating this cake. I might try another design sometime later.
In my shop here.
What do I like about this cake design? I'm loving the violets, the soft colors and the golden leaves ^^

It's beautiful Pei Li. The flowers look like a vintage velvet millinery posy. Sometimes having constraints like size make you start thinking outside the box. Great for creativity!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning Pei Li. x
ReplyDeletehow simple the cake is and the flowers add so much to the loveliness of the cake.can you make a tutorial on how to make the flowers one day?
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting! Have always been thinking about it! Right now, I only teach flowers in a face to face workshop. So if you ever stop by in Singapore, do schedule some time. It's not easy to teach the intricacies of making such delicate flowers through video, as the sense of touch is lost. But I'm always thinking about it. :)
