Christmas Macarons and life updates

Oh boy, where has all the time gone. For those who've been following my blog and know my current situation, I've been busy adjusting to a new schedule of taking care of my mom full time. It has been about 2-3 months since, and I'm adjusting well. There are some good and bad days, but there are more good days than bad ones, so for that I'm grateful. I'm still working - whenever I have pockets of free time daily. My life revolves around daily morning walks with my mom, juicing, accompany my mom for her weekly chemo sessions, monitoring mom's blood sugar level three times a day, cooking all the meals, housework, working, packing orders, teaching classes, running errands, grocery shopping. I'm sure there's more, but these are the main things. I am thankful that despite my very difficult circumstances, I am being supported in various ways by close friends, relatives and even strangers.

I've told a couple of my close friends, that maybe in future, I can consider a second career in care giving. When life presents hard situations, I take that as an opportunity to pick up new skillsets. Besides, we never really know what we are made of until such difficult situations arise. In these 2-3 months, I learnt a lot about food and nutrition and what I can cook for someone who has cancer and diabetes. My mom loves soup, so it's something I cook almost everyday.

On top of caregiving duties (which takes up most of my time really), I managed to:
- teaching a student who flew in from Philippines
- finished a custom christmas macaron order
- fulfil orders on time and going to the post office pretty much everyday

Sometimes I don't know how I manage to pull it off.

When my customer requested for chocolate cream for these red christmas macaron ornaments, I was really happy to work on them. Crafting gives new meaning to my life right now. And the colors were therapeutic. After I made them, I liked them so much that I decided to offer this color combination as well in my Etsy shop here.

I've always enjoyed making these every Christmas. :)

The color is festive, cheerful and I felt light hearted as I made these.

Also, I will be holding an xmas sale over at my Etsy shop starting 20 Nov till 1 Dec. I'm offering a 10% discount with minimum purchase of $100 SGD. Discount code is XMAS17

I'm working on listing a couple of new molds. However they probably won't be ready on the day of the sale, but they will surely be up sometime in the middle of the sale. :)

Have a good week everyone!

  1. Hi Pei Li. Glad to hear things are going mostly well and there are good days. Also great that you are keeping yourself busy with lots of orders and your teaching. I have tried teaching and I don’t think I am good at it, so I can appreciate that skill in others. Take care.
