Ready for the new year

The floors are mopped this morning. The tables and surfaces of my room were cleaned yesterday. That's about it for cleaning, and I'm ready to usher in the chinese new year over here. It has been a really cool, windy morning. We don't have any big celebrations since we won't be at home to eat starting this evening. We always go over to my aunt's place for dinner. For the next 3 dinners, we will be there. So there really isn't much to buy or purchase for home use. No titbits, no drinks. Pretty odd I know, but we really don't eat much of any chinese new year snacks. I will sample some when I'm at my aunt's place and that's enough for me ^^ I plan to continue crafting during the holidays!

Just a few days ago, I completed another set of pansies trio cake. This time round, I chose a vanilla cream for the cake, and the colors of the pansies just pop!

This set has been sold ^^ I do plan to make another set sometime, but right now, I want to explore the ganache look a bit more before I make another one of these.

Wishing all who are celebrating Chinese New Year a Happy Lunar New Year! :)

  3. Happy Chinese new year, Peil Li! Hope you enjoy the celebrations and playing with ganache. I really love the cream ganache with the pansies - as you say, they really pop! I'd love to see these with tiny candied violets too.
